Etsy Holiday Gift Guide 2018-The Vintage Version

Okay Friends! This is my last blog post for 2 weeks as I’m heading off to Malaysia again for 10 days of snorkeling and learning about how to protect the Marine Life. I’m very excited! BUT I did not want to leave before posting my Etsy Holiday Gift Guide 2018-The Vintage Version so that you can all get you shopping done while I’m gone (and then it’s just me left running around the world wide web looking for deals).

I have always enjoyed vintage items from Canada’s History and when it’s a piece of history from my own families experience, it makes it even better. Seen below is a Vintage souvenir dish from the Montreal Expo of 1967. My father and his family attended this expo and it’s cool to think that what you see below is what they saw as well when they were walking around (P.S. I’m not buying this because I already have memorabilia from the expo).

Take home a piece of Canadian history today!

“I think most of us would be familiar with at least one company that marketed direct to consumers in their homes. Examples are Avon cosmetics, Longaberger baskets, and Fuller brushes.  In most cases the salespersons were (are, as some of these are still in business) not employees of the company, but were private contractors who took orders for a commission”

Today’s Post is the vintage advertising that was put out there by companies like Harford Fashions, Fashion Frocks, Tupperware, Avon etc. to entice woman to join their teams to direct sell their products to fellow mothers/wives/friends.
